Bassel Hariri (Syrian violinist and composer) About this event Tarab Loops is an immersive solo performance by Syrian violinist and composer Bassel Hariri, bridging traditional maqam music with live looping, sound design, and improvisation. The project explores how music can carry, transform, and rearticulate the migrant experience. It asks how sound becomes both a memory and a map of belonging. Rooted in the Arabic aesthetic of Tarab, the ecstatic emotional state central to Arab music, this performance reimagines that affective tradition through the tools of contemporary sound.
