Registration closes on 23 June 2026 About this event What happens when we treat commentary not as a footnote to interpretation, but as a central mode of thinking across time? We invite scholars across the humanities – English, Classics, Theology, Philosophy, History, and related fields – to an interdisciplinary session on practices of commentary, from ancient scholia and biblical glosses to early modern annotation and digital reading. The event explores commentary as a transhistorical practice of interpretation, and transmission. The aim is to develop a shared vocabulary for its forms, functions, and assumptions.
